My partner of 27 years has been suffering devastating and debilitating health issues due to pollution from the Green Asphalt plant in Long Island City. We have tried reaching out to the Department of Environmental Conservation, to the Department of Health, and to the city to seek help but nothing has come. This company is allowed to continue to poison our air. We were offered a small amount of hope in the form of a high powered air purification system designed to target the carcinogenic VOCs that invade our home for hours on end, but the cost is more than we have have on hand. We’re asking for help to try to stay safe in our home.
