We are working day and night to protect the dunes, river mouth, wetlands, and wildlife – teaming with our talented, passionate lawyers, scientists, engineers, and others who have been instrumental in securing recent key wins for our ecological, cultural, and historic values:

• Michigan Supreme Court ruling that strengthened Michigan law on standing in zoning appeals – a decision that protects public participation and advocacy

• State and federal permit denials for NorthShore’s proposed marina

• Standing granted by Saugatuck Township Zoning Board of Appeals so we can challenge the Township’s 2017 marina permit

• Quashing the 56 subpoenas and staying discovery associated with NorthShore’s SLAPP-style lawsuit (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation)

We couldn’t do our work without our team – and you. And there’s much more work ahead, including opposing NorthShore’s appeal of the marina permit denial, advocating denial of the boat ramp permit, defending against the baseless SLAPP-style lawsuit … to name the big challenges.
