Help Protect Our Cows – Fund Reflective Collars so my cows will be safe and seen on the road at night.

Hi everyone,

As many of you know our cows graze on common land which has a road running through which the cows cross during the day and at night. The road has a 60 speed limit and there is no lighting or speed restrictions (humps/traffic calming etc) so drivers take full advantage of this fast stretch of road which connects 2 villages.

Every year cows are hit by passing vehicles and left injured and it usually ends with their death.

A kind supporter has found a company that makes reflective collars for cattle and New Forest ponies—a simple but effective way to make them more visible on the roads, especially at night.

Each collar costs £15, and we’d love to raise enough funds to buy as many as possible to help prevent roadside accidents and injuries. While we know there are other long-term solutions like speed limits and road safety measures, these collars are something we can do right now to make a real difference.
