Wheels of Change for Friend

Hello, Our names are Chris and Jessica we have changed this fundraiser after speaking further with Ezra and finding out one of the things that are on his bucketlist. We met our Neighbor Ezra when he first moved into the apartment building where we live. From the beginning, I knew that there was something special about Ezra that attracted us to want to get to know him better. Over the past seven months, we have gotten to know Ezra quite well and have watched him struggle with so much in the time that we have known him. We have felt compelled to do something to help him and after sitting down we have finally figured out what we wanted to do for our neighbor who is quick to help others even when he has nothing to give.

His ultimate goal and desire are to own a tiny home on wheels rather than building a home on a car dolly or living in a van. When we have asked why he would want to live in a tiny home one of his main responses is that he would love to have the flexibility to move to a new location at a moment's notice to help anyone who has experienced a traumatic experience, especially for the LGBTQ Community. Another reason he has stated that he wants to live in a Tiny home is that he could focus more on eliminating the debt that he has from when he was younger and less knowledgeable in financial literacy.

Everyone who knows Ezra would tell you what an amazing, sweet, and caring person he is and that he would do anything and everything to help anyone, even if he does not know them. Some would say that he would give the shirt off his back or the shoes off his feet if anyone needed them. All would agree that Ezra is the way he is today because of all the hardships, challenges, and obstacles that he has had to overcome in his life.

Ezra has faced a lot of health issues over the past few years, especially this past year. He was diagnosed with a Brain tumor back in October after having a stroke which has not slowed him down. He still has had some health issues that are in the process of being figured out but no matter what Ezra remains strong and continues to fight for everyone and puts himself on the back burner.

This last challenge that he has experienced and continues to experience is that he has been targeted by an unknown person or group of individuals who have been leaving hateful and cruel threats aimed towards him specifically. When talking to him about all these incidents he has remained himself pulling through the latest wave of rocky water with his spirit intact. Some may suggest that he should dull himself down but he remains steadfast in his beliefs that everyone should be allowed to let their true colors shine brightly and to express themselves accordingly.
