Update- emergent surgeries needed are cystotomy and perineal urethrostomy asap as the blockage was unable to be removed non surgically these and lifelong care and treatment are his only hope.
Today Prosciutto was diagnosed with bladder stones and a heart murmur when we took him in for a suspected UTI. After hours at his regular vet and with X-rays and testing, it was determined he has an active blockage and needs an immediate procedure to remove the blockage, followed by surgery as soon as possible for the many stones in his bladder. Otherwise, he will just become blocked again. He will also need a new specialized diet and to have more X-rays and treatment for his heart before they can safely put him under anesthesia for his surgery.
My dog Prosciutto means everything to me. Recently, we received some sudden medical news that has turned our world upside down. The veterinarians discovered that Prosciutto needs surgery, and it all happened so quickly that I barely had time to process it. As any pet parent knows, seeing your best friend in pain is heartbreaking, and I want to do everything I can to help him get better.
The costs for Prosciutto’s care are adding up fast. He needs testing, surgery, and ongoing medication to give him the best chance at a full recovery. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his medical bills and help ensure he gets the treatment he needs. I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t do it alone.
Prosciutto is my whole world and deserves to live a long, healthy life. He’s just three years old and has so much left to explore and so much more love to give. Please consider helping him if you’re able so he can keep being his silly self. Your support means everything to us, and we’re so grateful for any help you can give.
