In 2004, I began raising funds for needy students in Malawi where highschool education requires the payment of fees. Through fundraising concerts and donations we were able to support more than one hundred students to graduate from highschool. Many have gone on to college and some to graduate degrees in the U.S.

In 2018, one of these students, Promise Mchenga, and his wife Nellie Mchenga took over the fundraising to help another generation of students to develop their potential through education. They have helped many disadvantaged students through highschool and college, providing not only tuition, but also mentoring.

There are currently five particularly gifted and hard-working students enrolled in a private highschool in Malawi. These five students are in danger of being forced out of the highschool if the tuition is not paid. Promise and Nellie need assistance in supporting them, as their own family has grown and there is more strain on their budget. Nellie has taken a second job to help support these students, but it still is not enough to keep up with the tuition costs. $1800 will pay for the remainder of their Junior Year and the entire Senior year.
