Help Professor Johnson pay rent, buy food, etc.

Hi there, and Happy New Year. When my Social Security check was deposited into my Santander account, the bank seized it and used it to pay off an overdraft balance of $2000.

This overdraft balance was created when Santander continued to accept charges against the account even though the account was below zero.

Since they are do not offer overdraft protection, and I asked for it three times, the charges contiued to grow.

The best they could do was to obtain a form from corporate that would alert me that my account was moving towards zero. Nevertheless, once it reaches to zero, they would continue to accept charges.

And, they would charge you $35 a day for each day that you are overdrawn, even though the overdrawing was initiated by them due to their refusal to offer their customer what many other banks offer, namely, overdraft protection.

I do a lot for the homeless community in Boston. My name, Jimmy Johnson, is known throughout downtown Boston and in the Back Bay.

I am a proud 75 year old black man with a PhD from Harvard living on Beacon Hill in a studio apartment the past 26 years.

I just want to recover my Social Security check so that I can pay my rent, pay my dental bill, buy groceries, and get myself back-and-forth on the subway.
