Help Professor Ali Alibhai Fight for Justice!
Donation protected
Assistant Professor Ali Alibhai, a dedicated art history teacher at UTD, was arrested on May 1st while standing up for his students' safety during a peaceful protest. Amidst a chaotic scene reminiscent of darker times, Ali acted as a shield to protect his students from an overly militarized and violent police response. Despite his peaceful intentions, he was aggressively apprehended by several police officers and arrested without clear charges being made at the time. The arrest was violent, and Ali, a respected and beloved professor, was publicly chained in front of students and onlookers.
Ali now faces legal battles to clear his name and continue his passion for teaching and advocating for human rights. The funds raised will be used to cover:
1. Legal fees and associated costs to defend against charges from the arrest.
2. Any necessary personal support for Ali during this time.
