Help Produce Gil's Album in Memorial
Gilead Davy McGahee was 29 when he was fatally struck by a hit and run driver. He had just recorded his fifth album under his band Nocturnal Company and it was in the process of being mastered. We're raising funds to complete the production and distribution of this album, Phantasy Strength. Gil was incredibly excited to share it. He felt it was his best work to date and described it as the “most important music I’ve ever made.”
During his short time on earth he put his energy into music and art contributing to the artistic treasures of our world. In addition to music, Gil produced paintings and other artwork, often using his designs for his albums and webpages.
Gil wrote his music and lyrics, performed the vocals, and played many instruments, creating five albums with several musical collaborators. Some of these collaborators included Aaron Goforth, Ashton Roberts, Isaac Barba, Jacob Barba, Adeel Rae and Gil's oldest brother Gabriel. You can listen to Nocturnal Company at Band Camp, SoundCloud or Spotify. He was a self-taught drummer and you can hear him with Post War Germany on the same platforms.
You can see more from Gil on his Instagram and Facebook as well as several music videos on YouTube. In an article for mySoundposter.blog, Gil wrote, "In my music, I’ve always tried to convey optimism for life while not being afraid to write about the dark . . . " He processed his lived experiences and observations through his art and we're grateful that his work lives on.

Gil was incredibly funny and clever. He absolutely loved to laugh. (He liked grapefruit juice and wrote this song.) He was sensitive and thoughtful. He had a unique perspective; always discussing the mysteries of the universe and the human condition. Gil, beloved brother and son, lost his life on April 25, 2021. He is deeply missed by his family, friends and fellow musicians.
Help us complete and share Phantasy Strength as a memorial to his beautiful life and unique talents.
We hope to raise the funds by mid June. Any contribution, small or large, is GREAT. Your support means we can finish this final album for Gil, which matters to us, his family, and we know it would make him glad.
He wanted this music to be in the world. From deep in our hearts, thank you for making that possible.
With love,
Gil's family
