Ante Mortem is the third film by Paper Crown Pictures, a production company founded by students at DePaul University. Donations will be used to support Chicago actors, create lifelike special effects, build immersive sets, rent equipment, and pay entrance fees to festivals and screenings.
UPDATE: We are 1 week away from shooting and need your help! Ante Mortem will get made no matter what, but your donations will help us get better camera equipment, special effects, lighting, and more to make this film truly something special.
Plot Synopsis
Ray, a gambler drowning in debt, finds himself engaged in a poker game with stakes higher than he ever could have imagined. Round by round, Ray must fight to survive as he struggles to figure out who- or what- he's fighting.
Looking Forward
Paper Crown Pictures was founded by a group of first-year film, acting, and marketing students at DePaul University. Ferdinand Avenue, our first film, has been doing quite well at festivals. Your generous donations helped bring our second film, (Apotheosis) to life, which will be completed soon. Projects like Ante Mortem are the stepping stones to achieving the vision of Paper Crown: creating a network that allows for the production of numerous student films at once. We have worked hard to maintain the quality and vision that Paper Crown established with Ferdinand Avenue, and then Apotheosis, and soon, Ante Mortem. We look forward to bringing more student-driven stories into the Chicago film scene.
