Hi all, as we approach the Christmas season, it's been weighing heavily on my heart to help my Beffa, my best friend, Priscilla, out with some mounting bills. I come to tell her story because she needs help and because she has been working her behind off the past 7 months being the only parent for her children and going through nursing school.
To keep it light and details private, Priscilla went through a divorce this past May after losing their beloved Christian in 2019 from cancer and technically (clinically for 43 minutes) losing her husband in 2022. After rehabilitating him for over 2 years due to an anoxic brain injury, she found herself with no help with the children, behind on bills that were supposedly being paid, very little to no groceries, and in an apartment where rent was behind. Since May, God has profusely provided for her and the kids. She found an organization that gave her housing as long as she stayed a full-time student, which also meant keeping her GPA above a 3.0. If you all know Priscilla, you know she worked her butt off, passing almost every quiz/test with a 90 or greater. She also gets help from programs to get groceries and some necessities.
If she gets all this help, why am I asking for donations? Well, because she still needs help with her car payments that she's still behind on because, again, she was told it was being paid (pre-divorce) and needs help catching up before they come take it from her. She also needs help with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and Christmas, getting the kids things they need. She's been barely getting by with donating plasma; however, with the mounting stress and approaching holiday season, she found herself ill for the past 3 weeks and cannot donate plasma due to antibiotics.
She has also been patiently awaiting child support; however, it's been over 6 months and unfortunately, it has not come (yes, she has a court order and there are orders in place). She has a potential date but was told it won't be until after the first of the year. So, she has not been getting help for the kids over the past 7 months.
If anyone feels compelled to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I plan to keep this fundraiser a surprise for Priscilla in hopes of sending her one lump sum so she can at least get her vehicle paid up because without her vehicle, she won't be able to go to school, which she just signed up for RN school, and it would also mean she and the kids would lose their apartment.
