Help print Trees & Other Creatures, Teresa Scollon
The campaign is complete. Thank you for your support. For more information, please visit the Alice Greene website .
Help us publish Trees and Other Creatures by Teresa Scollon. For any donation of $20 and above, we will send you a copy of the book with our thanks when we get them back from the printer (you will need to supply us with your mailing address by replying to our thank you email, as gofundme cannot give it to us.)
Both poets and non-poets will be delighted by the poems in this collection; they are approachable and thought-provoking, some might even say, “genially subversive.” In Trees and Other Creatures, Teresa Scollon deftly loosens the boundaries between ourselves and those who share our world. Her layered vignettes explore the spirits of the animate and inanimate - chickens, dogs, a trumpeter, trees, a sofa, rocks - and we are given a path of fresh imagery into the emotional complexity of living, even in the midst of chaos: "It was as if the earth had opened its lungs on the ground before us: a rainforest..."
"…These are poems from a heart tenderized by deeply sharing in the suffering—and the joy—of all living beings. I feel as if she’s my neighbor, and also the sage next door. You will love these poems."
---Fleda Brown

Alice Greene & Co. is an independent press based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We publish poetry books that focus on the environment and sense of place. We strive to create beautiful and intimate books. The “& Co.” expresses the many collaborators and helpers who contribute their efforts and works to make the books as excellent and special as possible: editors, book designers, illustrators, photographers, artists, technology wizards.
We are turning to fans of the press and especially of Teresa Scollon to help launch her poetry chapbook, Trees and Other Creatures, into the world. The primary goal of this fundraiser is to finance the printing. All the editing and design work on Trees and Other Creatures is now complete. We plan to send the finished files to the printer by mid-July and hope to have books in early August.
If we raise money beyond the cost of printing, we would use that to help pay our collaborators. Should we be so fortunate to raise even more money, that will make it easier for us to work on books for emerging authors, as well as paying for expenses such as the website and publishing software.
