I’ve been 3D printing for a little over two years now, and after thousands of hours, I wanted to use my skills for something meaningful.
When I discovered the Toddler Mobility Trainer (TMTs) project, I saw how much it could help kids facing mobility challenges and knew I had to get involved. I’ve just finished my first build and learned so much along the way. If I had extra funds, I could test new settings to make the trainers even better, fund additional builds, and—depending on the success of this fundraiser—even purchase another 3D printer to help families waiting for these devices. This project is growing rapidly, and more families are finding out about it every day.
I am a vetted maker partnering with MakeGood and the 3D-Mobility.org platform to 3D print and assemble custom Toddler Mobility Trainers (TMT) for families with children experiencing mobility challenges.
Commercial options cost thousands of dollars and aren’t usually covered by insurance, leaving families searching for a better solution. Through MakeGood, these trainers are provided completely free to families, but the printing process is heavily resource-constrained.
The raw parts and materials can cost anywhere from $150 to $400 per device, requiring 8-10 spools of PETG filament and another 3 spools of TPU. Each build takes 10 to 13 days of continuous printing, and with my current setup, I’m lucky to print out one device a month. A second dedicated production printer would break this bottleneck wide open and allow me to help even more children.
Your support will help me bring mobility to more children in need. Every donation goes directly toward materials, improvements, and expanding production so that families can receive these life-changing trainers at no cost. Thank you for joining me in making a difference!
Here's exactly how your support helps:
$25: Allows the purchase of 1 roll of filament (Each chair requires 10+ rolls)
$50: Covers the hardware kit needed (Nuts/Bolts/Etc)
$300: Covers a full TMT build
$650: Covers a second printer to expedite the process (Each build takes 10 to 13 days of continuous printing)
If you can help me provide for these kids, THANK YOU! If you can't just a share could make a huge difference. Thank you for reading!
