Chloe needs our help!!

This is Chloe,
She is a 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog, who is unconditionally loved by her parents, Stacey and Mat.

Sweet Chloe has had a difficult journey so far in her young life. When she was just an 8 month old puppy, she was diagnosed with some form of necrosis in her right hip (specialists thought the head of her femur may be dying). This diagnosis came just days after she was scheduled for a double elbow surgery to correct a type of elbow dysplasia she was born with.

Unfortunately for Chloe's parents, they did not have pet insurance set up in time for her elbows to be covered, and since her hip was diagnosed as an illness at the same time, they won't ever consider covering any cost related to her hips  (ie: medications, surgery, diagnostics, rehabilitation).

After Chloe recovered from her elbow surgeries, her parents knew they now needed to focus on her right hip. Chloe and her parents spent many days at the vet both here in Canada, and across the border in Washington State. With multiple tests, the diagnosis for her hip had changed to Legg Calve Perthes Disease.

As Chloe's parents were trying to save up for yet another surgery, they noticed she became suddenly more lame on her right side after playing at the beach this past April. They rushed her to the local vet, who thought she had torn her cruciate ligament in the right knee.

So, her family packed up and went to see a specialist in Kelowna to have a look. After many diagnostic tests, it was determined that poor Chloe did not have a torn ligament in her right knee, or Perthes Disease. She actually had an unhealed (and un-diagnosed) hip fracture!
She has been misdiagnosed three times! Once as a necrosis in her hip,  once as Perthes Disease, and then the torn cruciate in her right knee.

No one is sure when exactly Chloe fractured her hip. The specialist said it could have happened from when she was born - up to 11 months of age, and is the cause of all her pain on the right side.
This unknown fracture may have cracked further, causing the sudden increase in lameness Chloe has been experiencing.
A total hip replacement is the best option for Chloe, as at this point there is no hope of saving her joint.

Chloe has been put on the waiting list for a hip replacement.
However less than 48 hours ago, she was walking and suddenly screamed in pain. After an emergency vet visit, she has now completely ruptured the cruciate ligament of her LEFT knee!!! Up until now, that was her healthy leg!
Chloe needs surgery and she needs it NOW, as she no longer has use of either hind legs!

She is scheduled for surgery (a TPLO) on Monday June 24th, to repair her left knee. Her parents are hopeful this surgery will be partially covered by Chloe's pet insurance, however at this time that is still unknown.
Once Chloe has recovered, they will need to move forward with the right hip replacement.

Please consider making a donation to help offset some of this huge financial burden her parents are facing with these multiple surgeries. They are going to do whatever it takes to help Chloe walk again, and your support is greatly appreciated.
