Help Princess Leia Run Again: Surgery Fund

Hi! My name is Katie- I’m starting this GoFundMe in an attempt to raise funds to pay for surgery for my sweet perfect angel Princess Leia.

She tore her CCL (ACL for dogs) 2 weeks ago and the estimate is far outside my realm of

financial ability.

We met with a surgeon consult today and i’ll attach the estimate - but it’s $4,953.16..small dogs do have a chance at recovery without surgery but it’s still not as good of a recovery as with surgery would be.

My stinky girl LOVES running, she loves playing and her favorite thing to do is launch off the porch at my dad’s house and chase squirrels around his tree and then sit and guard. She loves chasing rabbits out of his garden and protect his lawn from (unseen) intruders.

She’s my whole world and while they’ve said she can recover without, i want her to have the best life i can provide her, so i’m trying to provide a better chance here. She’s been through major eye surgery before, but she’s also flown to new york and lived in arizona and travelled with me, she’s been there for me in my darkest days and i want to continue our adventures and be there for her in her darkest days.

Leia is 11, and every vet has told me she is so healthy and they’d never guess she’s 11- i don’t want now to be the start of her showing her age.
