My name is Michelle, and if you know me, you know that Princess is my entire world. She has been by my side through everything, and I love her more than words can possibly describe; she is my family, my shadow, and my heart. This past Saturday, while we were away on vacation for the holidays in a remote area far outside the city, our lives were shattered when Princess was involved in a traumatic attack. To make this even more heart-wrenching, she turned 12 years old just three days after the accident—instead of celebrating her milestone birthday with joy, we were fighting to keep her alive. We were 80 miles away from the nearest emergency vet, and the two-hour drive while she was losing a significant amount of blood was the most terrifying experience of my life. She suffered a deep facial laceration that opened her gum into her nasal passage, a severe wound on her paw, and a traumatic injury to her eye. The surgeons stitched her mouth and lip, but her eye was so swollen it had to be stitched shut for two weeks. Because of the severity of her injuries and her fragile state, she is unable to fly back home with me until she is more stable and healed enough to travel safely.
I am doing everything in my power to give Princess the best care possible because she has given me 12 years of unconditional love. As a pet owner, you know that our animals are our children, but emergency surgeries and specialist bills are incredibly expensive, especially during these tough times. All donations will go directly toward her upcoming appointment with the eye specialist, the procedures to remove the stitches from both her mouth and her eye, and the ongoing cost of her essential medicines while we remain here for her recovery. If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing our story. We are so grateful for any support, prayers, or kindness you can offer as we fight to get our brave girl back on her feet so I can finally get her healthy enough to fly back home. know me, you know that Princess is my entire world.
