My name is Princess, and I have been on dialysis for four years after being diagnosed with kidney failure. Despite being denied a transplant at Emory due to calcification, I refused to give up hope. I spent countless hours researching and discovered that UI Health in Chicago, Illinois, is one of the only transplant centers willing to help patients like me who have been turned away elsewhere. Their specialists and advanced technology offer me a real chance at a new life.

Living in Columbus, Georgia, I face many challenges. I am legally blind and on a fixed income due to my disability. I am a mother to a 25-year-old son and two daughters, ages 14 and 16. My greatest wish is to be here for them and to continue helping others. My passion is to inspire people to overcome their own circumstances, and I hope to write a book about my journey one day.

To pursue this life-saving transplant, I will need to travel to Chicago for testing and, eventually, the surgery itself. The costs of flights, lodging, and multiple trips for both myself and my caregiver are overwhelming.
