My name is Nikolai Nikitenko and my friend and teammate Prince needs your help raising $8,000 CAD to continue playing football in order for him to support his family in Ghana after he was scammed and taken advantage of by scouts and agents.
Prince is a very talented football player from Ghana who lives in the UAE. He was spotted by local Ghanaian scouts in his village of Sefwi Wiawso and they had promised to take him to the UAE and make him a professional soccer player. Prince comes from a tough background and had to drop out of school due to the high costs. Football was his only chance at giving his family a better life. He has dedicated his whole life to football so when the scouts had come to him and offered a chance at fulfilling his and his family’s dream, his family was willing to do anything.
Prince's family raised the amount that the scouts and agents quoted them and he was on his way to the UAE to fulfill his dream. In 2020, a 16-year-old boy flew across the world to a foreign land with a foreign language with people he barely knew just to get a chance at helping his family. The scouts and agents took advantage of him and flew back to Ghana with the money and left Prince by himself. Just through his sheer grit, talent, and determination, Prince had managed to join local football clubs and was becoming a well-known name throughout the U-16 and U-18 categories. In every game that he played in, he was the standout player. In the 2 years since he has been in the UAE, he has had a large amount of success with him playing for teams that are categories older than him such as the City Football Club's U-23 team and the men’s professional first team that plays in the UAE's second division. He had also caught the eye of local professional UAE clubs and was offered chances to go to Germany and Belgium to play there.
In September of 2022, Prince had to leave a local club’s accommodation as they could no longer afford him to stay with them. As a result, Prince found himself out on the streets in Sharjah with no place to stay. Additionally, he was told that he could not play for the local club and cannot sign for other clubs due to his documents and VISA. The agents had not informed him of the contents of his documents and the clubs who registered him didn’t as well. This resulted in fines racked up to over 50,000 AED. He was told not worry about documents and that they will take care of everything and for him to just focus on football.
Prince faces deportation if we do not help him. Deportation would mean that his only chance to live a good life and help and repay his family are over. Prince is more than talented and good enough to become a professional he just needs your support.
Prince has found a company that can do the whole process of clearing his fines and getting a resident VISA.
Steps have already been taken to ensure that the donations will not be in vain. He will receive a resident VISA for 3 years ensuring that another campaign in the future won’t be needed. Additionally Prince has an agreement to train for another academy in the UAE called TFA and further steps after that will be to trial for Al Nasr SC (professional football club in the UAE). He also has interest from outside the UAE. In addition to opportunities in Germany and Belgium, he is in contact with a French coach who wants him to trial at Le Havre in France. World Cup winner N’Golo Kante and Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez both played for this team in their youth. Prince cannot pursue any of these opportunities without documents and our help.
Please help Prince remain in the country and continue to support his family and pursue his dream. Any amount that you can donate will make difference!
God bless
