Prince is my mom's 7 year old cat and unofficial emotional support pet. He recently went into heart failure and needed emergency vet care totaling a little more than $6000 to date. He will need ongoing treatment and care to maintain his quality of life until his disease progresses. My mom is a retired, former childcare worker and lives on a limited/fixed income so the cost of emergency care came as a heavy burden though not as heavy as not providing her fur baby with the care he needed to make it through the crisis. I am helping with the costs, but we are putting aside pride to ask for help in our time of need because we know there will be ongoing costs and we are having a hard time.

Donations will help cover the costs of the emergency vet care he received in July and allow us to gain some breathing room while we continue to fund his ongoing care. After treatment, Prince was diagnosed with an enlarged heart, which caused his lungs to fill with fluid. To keep this from happening again, he needs ongoing treatment, though his condition is terminal.
