Help Prince Johnson Beat SAA
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tinika Goodwin. My daughter, Amber and I are hoping to raise funds for PJ and his family. Please read below and you will understand why this is near and dear to our hearts.
To our family, friends, and the community- many of you know our nephew and cousin Prince, also known as PJ, as a gentle giant. Always there to make you smile or lend a hand.
In July of 2022, PJ started experiencing severe bodily pain that he simply associated with overexertion while working. When he came home one day, he began to experience shortness of breath and felt as if his body was paralyzed and he couldn’t move. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent numerous tests in Columbia, SC. Due to the severity of his condition, PJ was transported to Augusta, GA for further evaluation and treatment. After running additional tests, PJ and his family learned of his diagnosis - Severe Aplastic Anemia - a rare blood condition, in which the bone marrow cannot make enough red and white cells.
PJ and his family have had to travel back and forth between Columbia, SC and Augusta, GA, while his medical team continues to establish a treatment plan and search for a donor, as the only cure is a bone marrow transplant.
As you can imagine, this has caused a financial strain on him and his family as they continue to accumulate medical expenses such as travel, multiple blood transfusions, and medication, on top of the day to day expenses for his family and home.
Prince and his fiancé were months away from walking down the aisle, but due to his unfortunate diagnosis they will now have a small intimate ceremony on October 15, 2022 with immediate family. We are very appreciative of any amount you are able to donate to help him and his family as they begin their lives on a new, unpredictable journey. He has a long road ahead, but with your support and prayers he will continue to fight! On behalf of the family, we thank you in advance.
