I have a one-year-old male cat named Prince. He’s still just a baby, and I’m really worried about him. Prince is the sweetest boy—he loves everyone, from kids to dogs, and always brings a gentle, loving energy to our home. It breaks my heart to see him so sick after being such a bright spot in our lives.
He’s been sick for a little less than a week now. Yesterday I took him to the vet because he has been very lethargic and stopped eating, only drinking water. The vet suspects FIP based on his symptoms, but he was too dehydrated to run bloodwork to confirm it. They suggested taking him to the ER, which would have cost thousands of dollars, or euthanasia. I don’t have that much money, but I’m also not ready to give up on him without trying everything I can first.
Prince is still urinating, can lift his head slightly, and is able to walk to drink water or use the litter box, so he is still functioning. This gives me hope that he’s fighting and not out of it yet. I have been trying to help him at home by syringe feeding small amounts since he wasn’t eating at all. It did get him to eat a little, but he threw up a small amount afterward. Since then, he’s been drinking water on his own and hasn’t been vomiting much. I don’t have much money, and the vet bills are extremely expensive as is, but I’m willing to do whatever I realistically can to help him.
The funds from this fundraiser will help cover the cost of Prince’s medication and ongoing vet visits so I can give him the best chance at recovery. If you have any advice, resources, or are able to donate, I would be so grateful. Thank you for caring about Prince and helping us through this difficult time.
