Help Prima Fight Pancreatitis and Emergency Surgery

Hi, my name is Max. Together with my wife and our 2-year-old son, I’m asking for help for our 5-year-old French Bulldog, Prima, who is currently in hospital fighting a serious illness.

Prima means everything to our family. She got her name because she was the first born in a litter of five, and from the very beginning she has been special to us. She has been with us through some of the hardest chapters of our lives, and she is not just a pet — she is part of our family.

Our little son has grown up with Prima by his side. He looks for her at home, and it is heartbreaking for us to explain that she is still in hospital and cannot come home yet.

Prima has been with us through many difficult moments in our family’s life. We fought hard to keep her with us when we moved countries, and she has always been part of our home.

A few days ago, Prima suddenly became very ill. She started vomiting, including blood, stopped eating, and became dehydrated. We rushed her to the veterinary hospital, where the vets found signs consistent with pancreatitis. She has now been hospitalised for several days and is receiving urgent treatment.

Prima is currently on IV fluids, anti-sickness medication, pain relief, and close monitoring. Unfortunately, she is still vomiting and does not want to eat. The vets have repeated the ultrasound and are now concerned that they cannot fully rule out a blockage or another internal problem. They have told us that exploratory surgery may be needed to check what is happening inside and to make sure nothing dangerous is being missed.

The costs have risen extremely quickly. The final bill is not available yet because Prima is still in hospital, but after just two days the bill had already reached around £1,500. One night in hospital costs around £560, and the ultrasound alone cost £360. We have now been told that possible exploratory surgery could cost around another £1,500, on top of continued medication, monitoring, hospital care, and follow-up treatment...

Unfortunately, Prima is not insured. Pet insurance was not something commonly used where we came from, and we did not realise how high emergency veterinary costs in the UK could become so quickly. We are doing everything we can, but this sudden emergency has become more than we can manage alone.

We have set the fundraiser goal at £3,000 to help cover part of Prima’s current hospital bill, possible surgery, ongoing hospital care, medication, and recovery treatment. We will cover the remaining costs ourselves as much as we possibly can.

This fundraiser is only for Prima’s veterinary treatment in the UK. No funds are being sent abroad or used for any crisis relief. All money raised will go towards her vet hospital bill, medication, possible surgery, and recovery care.

If the final bill is lower than expected, any remaining funds will be used only for Prima’s follow-up care, medication, recovery diet, and veterinary check-ups.

We are not asking lightly. Prima has been through so much with us, and we just want to give her the best chance to recover and come home to our family.

Any support, no matter how small, would mean more than we can put into words and will go directly towards Prima’s veterinary treatment and hospital care. If you are not able to donate, sharing this page would also help us greatly.

Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and for helping us fight for Prima. ❤️❤️❤️
