I could become homeless again in mid-August. I received a 30-day eviction notice on May 30th for two significant reasons. First, I started receiving Social Security Retirement benefits in December, bringing me above the income limits for this housing. I also had a homeless veteran and her husband stay in my apartment overnight while they helped me recover from my depression. After that notice, for eight days I funded a hotel room for them, costing $1300 plus $400 for food.
I was served with a court date for the eviction on July 23rd. The eviction court is on August 8th. I hope to be able to move to a new apartment before then. I have applied for several apartments. I need the funds for the security deposit ($1,750), last month's rent ($1750), moving expenses ($350), and GoFundMe fees ($150). USNA classmates donated $150 through Venmo, and I have reduced by request here accordingly.
I can receive funds via CashApp ($WilliamHigginsJr), Venmo (Ha4aLLAssistance), or PayPal (@williamhiggins188).
For any that assist with this urgent need, I will either pay the funds back over the next year or donate those amounts to a charity of your choice.
