I’ve gone back and forth on whether to write this, because asking for help like this doesn’t come naturally to me. I’m someone who usually figures things out on my own. But right now, I’m facing a combination of health and financial challenges that have all hit at once, and I need support to get through it.

Over the past several months, my health has significantly worsened. I’m living with complex chronic illness, including autoimmune disease that is actively progressing—recently confirmed by grade 3 joint inflammation in my hands. I’m now starting more aggressive treatment, which come with their own risks and side effects.

In January, I was involved in a hit-and-run car accident. Since then, I’ve been dealing with a new and debilitating set of neurological symptoms—constant head pressure, severe pain when upright, ear pressure and ringing, and neck instability. There is concern for a possible spinal fluid leak or structural issue, but answers have been slow. I’m currently waiting for a CT myelogram and additional specialist evaluations which includes neurosurgeons because I also have cysts on my nerve roots in my neck, which means more time without clarity or relief.

Because of my health, I’ve been unable to work since the end of last year. My disability payments stopped, and instead of receiving support, I’ve been told I owe back payments—something I’m trying to appeal, but that process takes time I don’t have right now.

At the same time, my housing situation has become urgent. I’ve fallen behind on my mortgage and received a foreclosure notice. I’m also dealing with a serious issue on my property—a collapsing area near my foundation that needs immediate repair to prevent further damage. These are not optional fixes, but I don’t currently have the means to cover them.

I am actively trying to solve this. I’ve filed insurance claims, applied for assistance programs, and explored every option I can find. But there’s still a gap between what I can access and what I urgently need.
