Urgent Help Needed to Prevent Eviction and Pay December Rent
My Story
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out during one of the most stressful and difficult moments of my life. I am facing eviction and urgently need help paying my December rent. Asking for help is not easy for me, but I have reached a point where I cannot get through this without support.

How I Got Here
In September 2021, I injured my back while working in carpet cleaning. Rather than go on disability, I continued doing light-duty work until April 2022. At that point, when I turned 62, I began early Social Security retirement so I could still support myself.

I don’t have a car, which actually helps my rehabilitation — walking is part of my recovery. I live on the third floor, and although the stairs were hard at first, they’ve gradually helped me strengthen my back. I also exercise at home to continue healing.

In August 2022, I was blessed to find a job as a cashier at Walmart, about half a mile from where I live. Being able to walk to work, and having access to nearby stores for necessities, has allowed me to stay independent while recovering.

The Financial Hardship
This year, the Social Security earnings limit created a major challenge.

2025 earnings limit: $23,400
January 2026 earnings limits increase to $24,480

Penalty: For every $2 over the limit, Social Security deducts $1 from benefits

Because of Walmart giving me $1 raise in March 2025, and $1 in August August 2025, continuing my usual schedule of four days a week would have pushed me over the limit. To avoid losing critical income, I had to reduce my hours:

September: 4 days/week

October: 3 days/week

December: 2 days/week

With Social Security only paying once a month, and my work income dropping significantly, December has become the hardest month of all.

The Scam That Broke Everything
I tried to get a small loan of $300 to help cover my rent. Instead, I was scammed out of $1,200 — money I absolutely could not afford to lose. I had $1,700 saved, and with the loan of $300, I would have had enough for rent. A friend offered to help but backed out at the last minute.

Now, eviction proceedings begin December 16, 2025, and once they start, I have about ten days or less to pay everything in full to stop the eviction.

What I’m Asking For
I am kindly asking for $2,200 to:

Pay my December rent

Stop the eviction process

Make it through this month until I can return to my normal work hours

In January 2026, I’ll be able to return to four workdays per week. In February 2026, I’m willing to create an escrow account to begin paying back anyone who helps me.

Closing From My Heart
I know it’s the holiday season, and many may not be able to give. Any amount — even the smallest donation — would mean the world to me. Even sharing this page or keeping me in your prayers would help more than you know.

This situation has been scary, overwhelming, and heartbreaking. But I’m doing everything I can to stay hopeful.
Thank you all for reading my story, and for any kindness you can offer. I would be deeply, sincerely grateful.
