I am sure anyone who reads this would know me if they know Preston, or at the very least would know who I am. My name is Lindsey, and Preston is one of my best and longest friends. We have known eachother since elementary school at McDermoth.
Some of us know him as Preston, some know him as Kitty, P, Chunko, Potato, Matteo, or P-stone. Regaurdless of what you call this hilariously awesome, fun loving, great friend of yours, he's needing your help and support. Even the smallest amount makes a difference.
Early morning Dec 12, 2016, Preston experienced some very excruciating pain that he had never experienced before. Concerned, he drove himself to the hospital in Bellingham, where he lives.
He recieved pain control, and the hospital drew blood to run tests. Not long after, he was told of their concern and suspicion with his white blood cell count of 55,000 (Normal is in the 12,000 range).
The decision was made to transfer him to University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.
December 13, Preston presented with the scary confirmation that he has Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
As it stands right now, not much more information has been provided to us about the specific kind of leukemia he has, and how aggressive of a disease he is facing. All is known now, is there is a fight ahead.
The same night of his diagnoses, he was taken in and had a Central/Hickman line placed so limit the amount of stabbings ahead for blood draws, and medication. Today (Dec 13) He will be getting a blood tranfusion, and chemo should start in the next few days once more detail about the specific leukemia are known.
I know Preston has an infectious laugh, and fantastic personality that people are drawn to and love. He and I, and countless others, love and appreciate him, the things he's done, and support he's shown us in our times of need and loss. Regaurdless of what lays ahead for him, he has a mob of people behind him, ready to fight with him.
