Help Presley Joann: Medical Expenses for Our NICU Warrior
Dear friends, family, and community,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the love and support we’ve already received, as we navigate an incredibly challenging time for our family. On December 6th, 2024, Shannon and Mike were overjoyed to welcome their beautiful daughter, Presley Joann, into the world. Presley made her early arrival at 12:27 pm, and from the moment they met her, they were completely in love with her. She is a true gift, and they are grateful for every precious moment with her.
However, despite the joy of her birth, no one could have anticipated the challenges that would follow. Shannon’s pregnancy had been difficult from the start. At 20 weeks, Presley was diagnosed with a cystic hygroma, and while doctors ran multiple tests, no other complications were identified. By week 35, Shannon developed severe polyhydramnios, and the decision was made that it would be safer for Presley to be born early.
When Presley arrived, she was unable to breathe on her own. She was immediately airlifted to Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, while Shannon remained at Bethesda to recover from her C-section. For two long days, Shannon and Mike were separated, each filled with anxiety, uncertainty, and a deep longing to be with their baby.
Currently Presley remains on a ventilator while doctors work tirelessly to understand the cause of her breathing issues and to find the best path forward. Each day brings small improvements, but there is still much uncertainty ahead. Shannon and Mike are staying as positive as possible, but the emotional and financial toll is growing.
With the hospital being 70 miles away from home, the expenses for travel, lodging, and medical care are quickly adding up. They are facing a long road ahead, and while they are doing everything they can to support Presley, they need our help.
This GoFundMe has been created to assist with Presley’s medical bills, travel expenses, and the unexpected costs associated with having a baby in the NICU. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help alleviate the financial burden during this difficult time and allow Shannon and Mike to focus on being there for Presley as she fights to get better.
We are so grateful for all the love, prayers, and positive thoughts that have already been sent their way. If you can, please consider donating to help support this incredible family. Also, please continue to keep Presley in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to fight and grow stronger every day.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this challenging journey. Presley is a fighter, and with the help of our community, we know she will continue to grow stronger each day.
With heartfelt thanks,
