My name is Ali, and I'm the owner of Legacy Dumbo, a record store that has been a part of this community since 2021.

Opening Legacy during the aftermath of the pandemic was incredibly challenging but as you know, we came out swinging. Since then like many other small businesses, Legacy has faced constant obstacles, from two years of traffic construction right outside our door deterring Tourist/foot traffic; to the ever-present economic downturn… Rising taxes, soaring rent costs, and the slight decline of the vinyl industry.

These have all significantly impacted our ability to thrive in our current location.

Despite these hurdles, Legacy has been a vibrant hub for our community. We've hosted countless events, it's a place where friendships have blossomed, where love has blossomed (we've even hosted marriage proposals, a wedding after-party, and yes, even a wedding itself!).

From the wildly successful Liner Notes experience to Legacy’s very recent partnership with the GAP’s Flatiron NYC store (where I had the opportunity to personally curate their vinyl inventory)

shows that this train is still moving in the right direction.

To ensure Legacy's continued success, I'm launching a GoFundMe campaign to fund a "Game Transition" – a relocation to a new space better suited for our growth and the continued flourishing of our community.
