For over 500 years, colonization has stripped the Kichwa people of resources and silenced their voices. Today, their ancestral language, songs, dances, rituals, and celebrations—the heartbeat of their culture—are at risk of disappearing forever. The Kichwa way of life—rooted in respect for Pachamama (Mother Earth), reciprocity, and solidarity—offers not only a path to cultural survival but also a model for sustainable living in the modern world.
The Kichwa Cultural Center Muymi Kanki, together with the Wichana Foundation, is working to bring these traditions back to life. Through workshops, leadership training, and community planning rooted in Kichwa values, we help communities revitalize festivals, ceremonies, and practices that strengthen identity and unite generations.
Your donation will directly support:
- Training workshops for indigenous leaders
- Revitalization of traditional celebrations and practices, including the revival of Piñan’s Inti Raymi celebration in 2026.
- Sustainable community projects rooted in ancestral knowledge
- The creation of dynamic organizational models that strengthen cultural identity
Every contribution helps ensure that the Kichwa people can continue to thrive, passing on their wisdom to future generations while building resilient communities today.
