Hello, I’m Amanita and am making this go fund me on my mother Monica Casanova, little brother Zerak, and step dad Nick Zedd's behalf. I will be ensuring all funds go to the Zedd family.

Below is her message :

Nick Zedd has proven himself to be one of the most ambitious, unique filmmakers of the last century. With his work shown in some of the world’s biggest museums like the Museum of Modern Art and the KW museum of contemporary art, non stop screening's all his life, he was awarded the Acker Award for Lifetime Achievement, the legacy of Nick Zedd deserves to be remembered, protected and celebrated. He created the term Cinema of Transgression, the film movement of making low budget independent art films such as They Eat Scum, Police State, Geek Maggot Bingo, and much more. Nick Zedd has created multiple zines, including the Underground Film Bulletin that being under a glass case in the punk retrospective at Museum of Modern Art. He wrote many prophetic texts, including the Cinema of Transgression manifesto, the Extremist Manifesto and the Theory of Xenomorphosis.

Mr. Zedd's widow, Monica Casanova my myself, am currently working with the young filmmaker Thomas Dimopoulos to create and produce a feature length definitive documentary film telling his life story.

Sadly I am getting harassed, menaced, and my life threatened by my half brother to leave one of my mother’s houses where I am currently living with the 70 boxes of Nick’s archive and huge library. I was invited to live at this house of my mother’s but she’s changed her mind and is threatening me to throw everything away, to kick me out and have my half brother do anything against me, even try and put me in jail. Since my mother might have dementia at her 82 years old, me, Zerak (the son of Nick Zedd and I), and my father feel menaced with this situation and want to move on to another place since we fear for our safeness and our lives. We need to move on where I can continue working on Nick’s documentary and biography with Thomas Dimopolous, as well to continue digitization of materials ect. to complete the film. Nick Zedd influencing several major figures in the film world today (Jim Jarmusch, Quentin Tarantino, Oliver Stone etc), there is reason to believe that the documentary will get attention. As well as continue other projects in the works, such as photo books of his films, republish his books, produce merchandise, possible restoration of his films to distribute them, and of course do everything in the terms of Nick Zedd. Zedd has always stayed strong to his beliefs, and refused to compromise his own artistic integrity.

I want to be able to accomplish what I started for Nick Zedd my beloved husband and my son Zerak. I am currently taking care of the Zedd archive (over 70 boxes!), as well as raising Zedd’s and my son, Zerak, by myself. Zerak’s father was his best friend, and passed away when he was starting to be a teenager, a devastating loss to any child. To preserve the work of such an important artist, and create a definitive overview of his work, would mean the world to Zerak. Everybody who contributes to the GoFundMe will get a special thanks in the film's credits.

We need to raise the money to be able to move to another town and get on my feet while I find a job as well where we move. We need to have a safe place to live in peace with out menacing, harassment, and threats by my half brother and mother for the well being for my son Zerak, my 84 year old father as well as our 2 cats and 7 rabbits.
