It is with a heavy heart that I share the unexpected passing of my beloved father, James Oakes, at the age of 58. Known to many as “Jim,” my dad was a hardworking, warm-hearted man who spent his life providing for and protecting those he loved.

As a father of four, Jim was the rock of our family. He worked tirelessly as a heavy equipment mechanic and later as a manager, pushing through the pain of worsening knees because he believed in doing whatever it took to care for his family. Anyone who knew him would tell you he’d give the shirt off his back for someone in need. His generosity and kindness were unmatched, and he made a lasting impact on everyone he met.

For the past four years, my dad lived with me, and he was an integral part of our household. Our relationship was one of mutual support—we leaned on each other through life’s ups and downs. Now, with his passing, I am left to carry the weight of not only my grief but also the financial responsibilities that come with handling his affairs. my father was unprepared for his demise from this world and had nothing in order they will or finance set aside to cover these costs that have been left to us, and covering the cost of my dad’s cremation, I am struggling to maintain my household and try to take care of my beloved fathers affairs which will be costly to resolve.
