Dear Frabjous Family,
Two years ago, we opened Frabjous Catfé with a dream:
To create a cozy, whimsical space in Wake Forest where rescue cats could feel safe and loved—and where people could find joy, healing, and connection.
Thanks to your support, nearly 100 cats found forever homes, and hundreds of people found a sense of peace, purpose, and community here.
But today, that dream is at risk.
Why We’re Fundraising
Our lease has ended, and despite every effort, we’re unable to remain in our current location. We are closing our doors—for now—but we’re not giving up.
We're launching this fundraiser to raise $100,000 to:
- Cover core operating costs during this critical transition
- Provide continued care for our remaining cats
- Pay staff and retain our small but dedicated team
- ️ Secure and build out a new location
- Keep the mission and magic of Frabjous alive
Where Your Donations Will Go
Core Operating Expenses (4–5 months): $45,000
Rent ($2,710/month): $13,550
Utilities ($500/month): $2,500
Staff wages ($3,700/month): $18,500
Inventory & Supplies (coffee, snacks, café items): $4,000
Insurance, Admin, POS systems: $6,450
Cat Care Needs: $12,000
- Enrichment and habitat support
Relocation & Build-Out: $20,000
- Securing a new space (deposit, permits, inspections)
- Basic renovations, furniture, fixtures
- Moving and equipment transport
Community Engagement & Recovery: $5,000
- Pop-up events
- Marketing & rebranding efforts
- Raising awareness for future plans
Platform Fees (~5%): $5,000
- Covers GoFundMe’s processing fees so we receive the full amount
Emergency & Sustainability Buffer (~13%): $13,000
- Helps protect against unplanned expenses, emergencies, and supports our stability during this transition
