Help Preserve Black History

What is now known as The Martin-Webb Baptist Learning Center-Home of N J Brockman School of Theology, officially began in 1952 when Southern Baptist and National Baptist came together to sponsor training and to nurture local black ministers and lay persons.
Greenville had never had a black religious college until the N J Brockman School of Theology was introduced. There was always a special need for continuing religious education for church leaders in the African-American community. Many of the present leaders in Greenville and the surrounding area were trained at the center.
Martin-Webb was later sponsored by three Baptist Associations; however, we have lost the support of two of those associations. We have tried, in vain, to maintain financial fluency by offering additional workshops and classes. Unfortunately, this has not helped consistently. To reach our potential, the center needs funding. As a former student of the N. J. Brockman School of Theology, we feel you have a sense of loyalty to this school and want to see it continue as a resource available to you and others. As a business owner in you want to preserve history, as a Greek organization you see why it’s important to support this school. Please help keep Martin-Webb open and thriving. As a 501C(3) organization we need your help.
