Newburgh Juniors Football Club is more than just a football club — it’s a living part of our town’s history.
Founded in 1887, the club’s story stretches back well over a century. Originally known as Tayside Albion, the club became Newburgh West End in 1910 before finally adopting the name Newburgh Juniors in 1935. Through all those changes, one thing has remained constant: our home.
Since 1910, the club has played at East Shore Park — a ground that still carries the character, enclosure, and atmosphere of traditional Scottish football. It’s a place full of memories, stories, and generations of supporters, players, and volunteers.
Why We’re Asking for Help
At the heart of East Shore Park sits our clubhouse — a building that has served the club faithfully for many, many years. It has hosted countless matchdays, team talks, committee meetings, celebrations, and community events. It’s not modern or flashy — but it has real charm, history, and soul.
However, time catches up with even the most loved places.
Due to the age of the building, we are now facing essential upkeep and repair work, including:
Roofing repairs
Improvements to the changing rooms
Maintenance and refurbishment of the main committee / function room
These aren’t cosmetic upgrades — they’re vital to ensure the clubhouse remains safe, usable, and welcoming for players, volunteers, visiting teams, supporters, and the wider community.
More Than Just a Club
East Shore Park is also a popular stop for football groundhoppers, many of whom visit specifically because of its traditional feel and historic character. We’re proud that people travel to Newburgh to experience football the way it used to be — close to the pitch, close to the people, and full of authenticity.
We want to preserve that character, not lose it.
Where Your Support Goes
Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly towards:
Keeping the clubhouse watertight and structurally sound
Improving facilities for players and officials
Preserving a historic football ground for future generations
This is about protecting the past while securing the future.
