The play: Con Los Ojos de Ahora: Una Comedia Tempestuosa by Marcos Arano Forteza and Noah Dobin-Bernstein

The plot: After an explosion in an agrochemical plant, an Argentine town experiences bizarre phenomena: hot snow, mud that melts car tires and the cows produce phosphorescent milk. Enter Lorenzo, a Shakespearian actor and director, who arrives with his daughter to put on a production of The Tempest together with the characters who surround the local public school. Romance, humor and politics fuel the absurd collision between an Elizabethan classic and the realities of small-town Argentina.

In June 2026, we will be mounting a premiere in one of Buenos Aires' great independent theaters. Unfortunately, due to a cost of living crisis in Argentina, the economics of theater productions are more difficult every day.

That's why we're asking you to make a contribution (small or large!) to cover the production costs so that the actors, director and technicians can keep 100% of the ticket sales and earn the living they deserve making great theater at an accessible price!

For contributions of $75 or more, we'll send you a t-shirt with the design from the official theater poster (still to-be-made).

A bit about us: Marcos Arano Forteza is a director, playwright and theater teacher whose ensemble productions have been hits in the Argentine independent theater scene for the past two decades. Noah Dobin-Bernstein is a global labor rights organizer who writes whenever he gets a chance. This is our first collaborative project since teaching a popular theater class more than 20 years ago!
