Hi everyone, as some of you may know, I recently was hospitalized for a week for what the doctors thought was just untreated strep that almost turned septic. I was told that if I had waited even just 48 more hours, I would have been gone. Luckily, I was able to get treated for the strep, but I had other symptoms that were stumping 5 different teams at the hospital. After 4 biopsies and lots and lots of blood work, I was told that I developed a very rare autoimmune disease called pemphigus vulgaris. In short, it's a skin condition that causes your skin to blister and then basically can't heal or takes a very long time to heal. It affects the mouth, so my lips have been ripped apart for almost 2 months now, making it hard to eat. It also affects the mouth and throat, so I've had either no voice or have struggled to talk for almost 2.5 months, and it affects the torso. All this would be bad in itself, but I am also currently 16.5 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child.
Most of you know I am a bartender, and not working for 2 weeks and now on the 3rd week of not working, we have lost a lot of money and are struggling A LOT to pay bills and medical bills. My family and I are asking for help. Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first time doing this, and I am putting my pride aside to ask for much-needed help. Thank you in advance for reading my story and for any support you can give.
