My name is Carrie and I’m Steven Porter’s daughter. Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 he was bush hogging on his tractor and a dead tree fell onto his face and chest and pinned him to his tractor. He then was airlifted to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. He has been in Trauma ICU since then. He has multiple fractures such as both jaws, 3 ribs, his palate, septum and every bone in his face. He will have an extensive surgery tomorrow to place plates, screws and wires to wire his jaws shut in order to heal. He will also have a tracheostomy placed tomorrow to protect his airway. My dad has always been a hard worker and provider to his family and I want to lift some of the financial burden off of my parents and I know this will be costly. Any donation will help as we will not be sure of when or if he will be able to go back to work. I want him to be able to rest and heal and not worry about this hospital bill.
