I'm Paige, Potato's human.

 

Potato is a 9 month old miniature dachshund (wiener dog). He is sooooo stinkin cute and has a sweet, silly personality. He is also unusually petite and long.

 

On Dec 27, Potato started to get sick (vomiting). He had to be rushed into surgery on the 28th. It turns out he ate some of a bone and it got stuck in his bowels. The surgery went well but a few hours later he started crashing. The vets have been working very hard to get him better and he has shown gradual improvements, but they can't seem to stabilize his vitals. He's been transferred from a regular pet hospital to a critical care pet hospital and is in the pet ICU. Hopefully he just needs time and support to get through this but there is a risk that there could be something else wrong with him. Unfortunately, only time will tell. At this time, they are estimating that he will be in the hospital for 3 days. If all goes well, he should be coming home on January 1st.

Today I realized there was no way I could do this on my own so I posted the link to my Etsy/small business page and was overwhelmed by the response. Some people requested a link to a GoFundMe or my direct email address for e-transfer. I realized that people were willing to help and, although it pains my ego to admit this... I need help.

 

I really appreciate your support. I really really really need Potato to make it home. He's the sweetest little guy and my whole world.
