Porter is a 5 year old Neapolitan Mastiff who lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was recently diagnosed with a torn cranial cruciate ligament (human equivalent to ACL) and requires a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy to prevent permanent lameness and development of arthritis in is other leg. The procedure consists of cutting through the top part of his shin bone to change the angle it meets the thigh bone and fixing it in place with a plate as well as possible ligament repair, depending on the extent of the injury. Living in Alaska, the only place offering this procedure is 8 hours away outside of Anchorage. His parents will have to take time off work to travel there for the evaluation, surgery and post operative recovery. The quote for the procedure was between $5000 and $9000 and any gracious donations would help cover the cost of the surgery, medications, and rehabilitation. Porter is a sweet boy that is loved by everyone who meets him. He regularly attends city events and music festivals to keep up with his need for affection. He is active around the community, bringing smiles and joy to everyone he meets. Check out his Instagram @porterkamp Thank you for your support and prayers.
