Help Porter Battle Cancer with Strength and Hope

Dear friends, family, and caring community,

We’re reaching out to share some difficult news about our friend and brother in Christ, Porter, and to humbly ask for your support during an incredibly challenging time.

Over the past few months, Porter has been battling a persistent and severe cough. At first, it was diagnosed as pneumonia, and he was prescribed antibiotics. But when his symptoms didn’t improve, Porter returned to the ER in search of answers. After being admitted to a nearby hospital for further testing, pneumonia was ruled out, and a biopsy was ordered.

The results confirmed what we feared: Porter has metastatic cancer in his liver and GI tract. There is also concern that the cancer may have spread to his lungs. The Porters are still waiting on additional test results to confirm.

This news was especially shocking and devastating because Porter, Sharon, and Tayah just moved to Colorado, hoping for a fresh start and new opportunities. Instead, they are now facing the fight of their lives in a brand-new place, far from many of their long-time support systems.

We are determined to stand by Porter and pursue every possible avenue of care to give him the best chance at healing. Along with chemotherapy, they are hoping to explore alternative therapies that could improve his quality of life and support his fight.

As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll of this diagnosis is heavy. We’re asking for your help to ease the burden. Donations will go directly toward:

  • Medical expenses not covered by insurance

  • Nutritional support and integrative therapies

  • Everyday expenses to support the family as they navigate this difficult journey

If you’re not in a position to give financially, we still invite you to join us in lifting Porter and his family up in prayer. This GoFundMe is being shared only with Porter and Sharon’s close community, and your prayers, encouragement, and presence are just as meaningful during this time. Every act of support—big or small—means the world to us.

Thank you for standing with The Porters. We are deeply grateful.

With love and hope,
Greg and Eliza LaBelle
