Update: Pops had tumors on his spleen and liver that were causing tremendous pain. We ended up Putting him down to stop his suffering. All I need is enough to make sure I get my Good Boy’s ashes home where they belong.

 Pops has been my loyal companion for over six years, ever since I rescued him from Fayette Friends of Animals. He’s about 13 or 14 years old now, and he’s truly part of my family. A few mornings ago, Pops had what I believe was a seizure—he started zoning out and falling forward. Afterward, he slept the rest of the day. The next morning, he seemed back to his old self, running, barking, and rolling around in the snow. But over the past two days, he’s been sluggish, quiet, and very picky about his food.

I want so badly to take Pops to the vet and get him the care he deserves, but I’ve been struggling. When I lost my job, my work history was all physical labor, which I can’t do anymore after a motorcycle accident. Now, I’m basically looking for a first job again, and money has run low, so I can’t afford to get my old boy looked at.

The funds raised will go directly toward getting Pops to the vet, covering any tests, medicine, or treatments he might need. Pops is family to me, and it’s breaking my heart to see him not himself, not knowing what he’s going through. I rescued him to give him the life he deserved, never imagining that my own life would take a turn that would make things so hard for both of us.
