As some of you may know, my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer last May. He had 4ft of his infected colon removed and was deemed cancer free at his follow up appointments. 2 weeks ago, he headed into his 9 month check up, and unfortunately they found that the cancer has metastasized to his liver in 3 separate spots. There are many different variables for them to be able to operate on him and try to remove those spots. If they cannot operate for any reason, they gave my dad 3-5 years life expectancy, with a chemo port in his chest that entire time.

Well, we all know my dad and he was not f*cking having that.

The day after he found out, knowing it might be a long shot, he got on the phone with John Hopkins University cancer center. He told them his story for over an hour and miraculously they have accepted him as a patient. JH is one of the largest and most advanced cancer centers in the U.S and my dad wants to try anything and everything he can to be cancer free. The drive from Rochester to John Hopkins is about 12 hours round trip. I am putting this together to help my parents with cost of travel and anything else they might need as they will both miss work to get my pops there for treatment.

My dad isn’t someone who would ever ask for help, but he does so much for all of us.

He’s always been everyone’s dad to all of our friends growing up. Everyone that meets him falls in love with his giant-like apperance and teddy bear heart. Wether its feeding you too much of his amazing home cooked meals, or pouring you one too many cocktails, he absolutely loves all of you. He does not want to leave this earth yet, he wants all the time he can with his beautiful grandkids, his kids and his soulmate of over 40 years. My mom and dad are the epitome of everlasting love, and he refuses to leave her behind.
