Hello!

for those that don’t know me my name is Des, I live with my fiance Steven and this is our cat Ponyo. Ponyo is (estimated) 15 years old and despite his age he has always been my little baby boy.

Recently Ponyo hasn’t been his usual self and has been sleeping more and more importantly we noticed his left eye had darkened and gone kind of cloudy.

We got him into a vet the soonest we possibly could and this is when they told us that his left eye had glaucoma and referred us to a veterinary ophthalmologist. The vet also told us he has a pretty strong heart murmur that wasn’t caught last year at a different vet clinic and suggested we see a cardiologist for an echocardiogram. Other than these things, he is a perfectly healthy cat.

At the veterinary ophthalmologist, we were informed that Ponyo most likely has Iris melanoma cause by his glaucoma in his left eye. This melanoma can very easily and rapidly spread to the rest of his body including his liver and lungs and kill him if we don’t remove his left eye.

All this being said just the appointment to get all this initial information maxed out our care credit card. We do have insurance for Ponyo and are waiting to hear back from that but we need help. The initial cardiologist appointment alone will be 1,300 they are estimating and the ophthalmologist told us his eye removal will be a bit over 2,000. Without the eye removal his life may be cut drastically short.

Steven is already working 2 jobs and my full time doesn’t allow me enough time to work a second job. We are asking for 4,000 to help cover these bills, and any other medical expenses that may pop up during/ after for our boy. With donors help we have already been able to pay off our care credit!

Any amount helps, we just want answers and to try to help my baby boy live comfortably the rest of his life. Thank you for your time.
