This sweet old man came into my life when he was scheduled to be euthanized due to severe skin disease and chronic health issues. Instead of letting that be the end of his story, I chose to adopt him and give him a chance. Since then, he’s proven just how much life and love he still has left.

He has now been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, which is a hormonal disorder where the body produces too much cortisol. This causes problems like skin infections, hair loss, poor healing, and recurrent infections. Along with Cushing’s, he had a severe skin infection and chronic infections in both ears.

With proper medication and care, his Cushing’s is now well managed, and his skin has improved dramatically. He’s more comfortable, happy, playful, and truly living his best life. Anyone who meets him knows he is the gentlest, sweetest soul.

Unfortunately, infection in one of his ears is persistent and the last major issue. Despite multiple cultures, long-term antibiotics, and ongoing treatment, his ear infection will not resolve. He is in constant discomfort and pain from it.

The only solution left is a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA). This surgery removes the diseased ear canal entirely, eliminating the source of chronic infection and pain. While it sounds extreme, it would be a life changing procedure for him, giving him comfort after years of suffering.

I work at a veterinary clinic, so I am able to get this surgery at a reduced cost-but even with that discount, it is still more than I can afford as a single mom. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his surgery and recovery care.

He has already beaten the odds and come so far. He deserves to be comfortable for the rest of his life.
