Help Pond Get The Knee Surgery She Needs...Again
Donation protected
Alissa Abeler and her rescue pup (Pond) are dear friends of my Wife, myself and countless other people. Alissa rescued Pond from the streets of Nashville and has done everything she can to make sure Pond has a better life than what she was born into. Less than 3 months ago, Pond had to undergo a TPLO surgery on one of her back legs. As fate would have it, she is now in need of the same surgery on her other back leg. Alissa works hard to not only survive as a local Nashville musician, but to make sure Pond has a great life. I know from personal experience that this surgery is not cheap and we all know that Alissa would sell whatever she could and work the extra hours to pay for this. She did what she had to do and saved up for Pond's first surgery and obviously this one was unexpected.
Pond's rescue story from her best friend and bandmate, Hannah...
February 18th, 2017
You never know when life will wake you up. After 4 years of looking and hoping for the perfect brindle pit mix, a buddy posted that a brindle likely pitbull/boxer mix was brought into a coffee shop he was at and desperately needed a home. The puppy had been dropped in a backpack in an alley and needed a home ASAP as she was likely very young. The moment Liss saw the picture it was truly love at first sight. She texted the friend with the puppy and said she’s be home in 20mins if he could bring her by that when we realized how seriously young she was. She was only 4 weeks old and had a splayed paw. She was nursed back to health with goat milk and kibble and she grew and grew...and grew and now she’s pushing 75 pounds and is the most loving and excited girl.
Pond Solo was named after the two most badass characters in the Sci-Fi world, “Amelia Pond” and ”Han Solo”. She is the most expressive, intelligent, caring, adventurous, kissingest dog that’s ever been. It’s hard to believe that in a moment everything changed and now we can’t imagine life without her.
In closing...
Alissa would never ask anyone for money and that's why I started this GoFundMe page (Sorry, Alissa!). There are so many people who love Alissa and Pond. We all want to help and make sure that Pond gets the proper care she needs. Thank you for donating what you can. Every little but helps to take the burden off Alissa and helps guarantee Pond will have an amazing life, being the high energy dog that she is.
