My name is Julius Jaramillo, and I am a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. In January 2025, I began shooting a film I had written the previous year, titled 'PONCHO.' The story follows an immigrant who adopts a vigilante persona to protect the people of East Los Angeles, wrestling with his own rage and the question of how best to serve his community. After months of hard work, we finished the film and premiered it on my channel, @BumblingCinema, on November 16, 2025. The reaction has been truly remarkable, especially within the Latino community, where the film has resonated deeply during these difficult times. People have told me how much they need a hero—someone who represents their struggles and hopes.

Inspired by this response, I want to take 'PONCHO' to the next level by entering it into Los Angeles-based film festivals. However, the costs of submitting a feature-length film can add up quickly, and that’s why I’m reaching out for support. Every contribution will go directly toward these fees, helping 'PONCHO' reach new audiences and continue its mission of bringing hope and representation to our city.

Los Angeles is a city that I consider the pride of California. There are problems, yes. But the people who live here, who work day after day to support their families (terrestrial and not), are what bring out the beauty. Our beautiful city (as well as our nation) is facing an unprecedented time of pain, loss, and fear. And it's because of these harsh realities, that we need a hero. Whether that hero is real or not, isn't the issue. The issue is what that hero means to the working class. That hero, as we see it, is PONCHO. Because Poncho is anyone and everyone. Poncho is about the struggle between rage and serenity. Poncho is about feeling trapped and pursuing freedom. Poncho is about taking pain and finding joy. This is a character that I hope becomes a staple of my beautiful city—a figure that can bring support to anyone who needs a helping hand, a hero, or a friend.
