**Update: Polycarp is scheduled to have an embolization procedure this Tuesday 26th August 2025. He will then be ready for the first major surgery in the coming few weeks. We will be updating as we find out more information. Thank you for your continued support.
*Update: When Russell visited him last month the tumour had grown significantly.
Polycarp is a 12 year old boy from a village called Buloma in Samia-Busia county, western Kenya beside the Ugandan border. He's from a very poor family, a family that cannot afford even transport to their nearest town.
He's been diagnosed with Vascular Malformation, a congenital (present at birth) anomalies of the blood vessels that do not regress and may grow throughout life.
In Polycarp's case, the tumour is benign but pressing on his brain and stunting its normal development.
I met Polycarp and his mother last year at a medical camp we had organised. He met with one of our doctors. To this day, I can remember his beautiful smile. He came across to me as a lovely gentle well mannered boy, a person well deserving of our help. Since then, AIDex has contributed financially to his wellbeing and transport, food and accommodation for he and his mum & dad going to doctors, getting images & tests done. With the help of medical friends in Kenya, he has finally been given a date for his first surgery at Kenyatta hospital Nairobi. The sur-gery will be complicated and requires a multi disciplinary approach. Sometime late July or early August, we hope and pray that Polycarp will start the first of his surgical operations. Please pray for him.
I'm sharing this in the hope that you might consider sup-porting the cost of his operations. We estimate A$8,000 at this stage. Our Bank details are AIDex Australia Inc. BSB #033254 ACC #687763
Please ref Polycarp.
