Help Polo Return to UC Davis

Hey Everyone! After a 20-odd year hiatus we are happy to announce that polo is returning to UC Davis. With the help of Davis polo veterans Bonnie Magill and Mike O´Ferrall, our women´s team is chomping at the bit to bring Davis back into the world of I/I polo. On the roster we´ve got three dedicated, talented and ambitious young women fresh out of the interscholastic program. Two of our girls, Liliana Gonzalez and Marisa Carelli, represented the Sutter Buttes Polo Club and Poway Polo Club, respectively, at last year at the Intersholastic Women´s Nationals. Our third member, Maya Tantuwaya, played I/I at Poway Polo Club in high school. As a fourth-year animal science student and senior, Maya hopes to leave the revamped Aggie Polo Club as her legacy for future UC Davis students.

However starting a club from the ground up takes more than grit and determination. In order to get back in the saddle this year (and for years to come), we´re looking to raise $12,000 to cover the cost of club registration, horse boarding and rentals, and tournament entry fees.

 

Here´s a quick summary of what your donations will go towards:

-I/I Entry Fee

-USPA Club Dues

-Horse Rental for Away Games

-Horse Boarding and Care

-Travel Fees for Away Games (Lodging, fuel, meals)

 

Its been touch and go getting the ball rolling for many years, but this group of determined young women are fired up and willing to put their all into getting polo at UC Davis back on the map and keeping it there.
