Help Polly Pick up Pieces From Fire

I am starting this campaign to help my mom, Polly Hammerschmidt.
On Monday, September 4th, at 12:30pm I recieved a panicked phone call from my mom, Polly, telling me through tears that her home was on fire. Firefighters were on scene and she and her dog were safe, but she didn't know if her cats made it out and she couldn't give me any more details at the time.
As of right now - 1:30pm - the house is still in tact but has suffered smoke damage, and only one of the cats has made it out. That's all the details that I currently have, but I wanted to start this campaign anyways because I know my mom would never ask for help, even in times like these when she needs it the most.
As a guidance counseler at Gwinn High school for over 30 years, my mom helped hundreds of students and yes, even their kids as students, stay on track and fulfill their dreams. As a family worker for the DHS, she has fought for families and advocated for the rights and safety of innocent children. As a floral designer at Lutey's, she has brought so much beauty and happiness to the world. And as my loving mom and one tough lady, she raised my sister and I to believe we were capable of anything and supported us in all we've done.
Although we're unsure of the cause of the fire or amount of damage, I wanted to start this campagin because it's the last thing my mom would ask for, yet it's what I know she needs help with the most right now. Her home was the same home she grew up in, built by her dad and my grandpa Richard Hammerschmit, and it means so much to her as it holds so many memories.
So please, let's show this amazing woman who has helped so many of us and the community that we care for her and have her back in a time of need. Please donate any amount you can - even a dollar will be put to good use restoring her home - and share to spread the word.
