Hello, I have been a friend of Pauline Crist (Polly) since elementary school. I grew up down the street from her family and over time she has become part of mine. Throughout the years, we have been roommates multiple times and become very good/best friends. Polly is a type of individual who has always been there for people, and as such, I am one of many who consider her one of the BEST! When I was told of her circumstances with CANCER, I was initially upset and sad. However I was soon determined to help her fight this cellular advisory by providing any support and means necessary. Together with friends and family I hope to help lift the burden of medical bills and daily costs during this difficult time for Polly and her immediate family.
The beginning was to just be a simple trip to check about stomach pain, and ended up as an ER visit to the hospital. After emergency surgery and removal of a mass the size of a grapefruit, Polly was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer. She spent days in recovery at the Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. Having lost weight over the previous time period due to the illness, she seemed frail and skinny in photos compared to the woman I knew. However in speaking to her one is reminded of her wonderfully strong spirit of positiveness, even while facing a stage three diagnoses.
Polly will have to undergo 6 chemotherapy treatments, one every three weeks. She will not be able to work during this time period and will need up to a year to recover.
Please consider donating to help defray the costs of cancer treatment for my friend and her family. The more positive people, thoughts, and feelings that surround her, the higher the frequency of love and being that will heal her.
Thank you.
